Weekend incoming
Nearly the end of another hectic work week, with the weekend now in sight...
With 3 young kids, being spontaneous with ‘me time’ isn’t always realistic. I find I have to schedule this time in…or it doesn’t happen!
Even when I get this time, it can be difficult to switch off from work/ chores with so many ‘to-do lists’ rattling around my head.
I’m a big believer that a helpful contributor towards positive mental health is having at least one creative hobby in your lives, that you do on a regular basis.
It could be writing, drawing, sculpting, building, DIY, knitting, sewing, playing/ creating music, photography, baking, bonsai…..whatever floats your boat!
For me…it’s miniature figure painting (for my tabletop games).
It’s hard for me to think of anything else when I'm trying to keep my hand steady enough to 'neatly' paint 1:50 scale (3-4cm) figures.
It’s a fun distraction that uses a part of my brain that sometimes gets neglected…and it does bring the games we play to life (or so my inner-geek tells me).
I hope you all enjoy switching off and doing your ‘thing’ this weekend...whatever that happens to be!
(For reference, my figures in the image, from Rum & Bones - 2nd Tide).
