The Taxpayer Tango

The holiday season has come to an end, and our 3 kids are no longer laying siege to my home office.

With all three kids now in full-time schooling, we’re finally seeing the childcare cost tsunami begin to recede. 🌊👶💸

There’s talk of new policies on the horizon, with public school breakfast clubs potentially being subsidised/fully funded.

While it’s nice to think about a few hundred pounds being freed up each month, I can’t help but wonder… 🤔💭

…if this funding is effectively being syphoned from private school fees, pushing those costs higher, will we see a migration of students from private to public schools?

If so, will this influx put increasing pressure on teachers and resources, ultimately diluting the quality of education? Unless, of course, more funding magically appears to meet the growing demand for public school places. 👩‍🏫📚💼

I understand it’s a tightrope walk for political parties trying to please everyone, but perhaps a more targeted approach tapping into the billionaires coffers could be a better start, rather than diluting everyone else’s standard of living, and creating division amongst 99% of the working population under the guise of a benefit. 🎯💰

If only we didn’t live in a world where the hyper-wealthy can simply relocate themselves or their businesses to the most tax favourable spot on the globe. 🌍✈️

I’m not sure what the answer is. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, that’s enough politics for one day, back to headhunting. 👨‍💼
